Past tense in Levantine Arabic is formed by adding suffixes to the verb root.

Pattern Root + Suffix

إنتَ (you m)	-t	دَرَست (darast)
إنتِ (you f)	-ti	دَرَستي (darasti)
هُوّ (he)	-Ø	دَرَس (daras)

نحنا (we)	-na	دَرَسنا (darasna)
إنتو (you pl)	-tu	دَرَستو (darastu)
هُمّ (they)	-u	دَرَسو (darasu)

Present tense uses prefixes (and sometimes suffixes) added to the verb stem.

Pattern Prefix + Stem + (Suffix)

Common prefixes: b- (I), bt- (you/she), by- (he/they), mn- (we)
